"Sugar and spice and everything nice"

We are having another blog hop at Clear Dollar Stamps...this month's theme is "Sugar and spice and everything nice, That's what little girls are made of"...I wanted to use this beautiful flower garden set that was just released on Wednesday...It comes with three different coloured flowers...I chose to use the purple flowers because I've been in a purple mood lately...Purple is a colour that doesn't get used a lot in the scrapbooking/cardmaking world! But I was channeling my grandmother I guess...her favorite colour was purple (she passed away almost 4 years ago now)...my daughter and I were having a discussion and she said her favorite colour was purple! So I guess it was in my brain to use purple!

Anyways, this is a sad blog hop for me...because this is my last one for now with CDS...I have stepped down from the team...I didn't want to...I had to think long and hard about it...but in the end, life just takes priority over my creating time and I just wasn't working up to my standards and I didn't want my teammates to have to pick up my slack...it just seems like these next couple months are SO busy...and I just won't have as much creative time as I'd like. So, with a saddened heart, I had to email Lori and Laurie and tell them the not-so-nice news...but don't fret! I will be creating MANY more cards and projects with the WONDERFUL images that I've been given during my time at CDS! I was so happy to work with the crew at CDS....they are a creative and friendly and caring bunch of ladies! And might I add VERY talented! 

Okay, so back to the hop...you wanna know about the PRIZES! Under the Sea

This was one of the images I got when I joined the design team at Sassy Studio Designs!

Here's what I did with it! Of course, whenever I see a mermaid image, I automatically think Ariel from "Little Mermaid"! Hence the colour scheme!!

I just love her!! She's appropriately named "Mermaid Mandy"! (Maybe that's why I like her so much!) You can purchase her on the SSD Store site.

I inked all around the white cardstock and around her to create a water look. The seaweed look is just a die-cut I had lying around!

Here's the close up view of the tail...

I put the green Stickles on first, let it dry and then I hit it with the Glossy Accents and let that dry! It came out like I pictured it and I like it when that happens!!! (Sometimes it doesn't always work that way!!!)

New Releases, Blog hop and Challenge

Hello everyone! Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends! Hope you're enjoying Canada's birthday! We're heading out later on to the fairgrounds to see what's going on!!

But till then, it's PARTY TIME and RELEASE DAY at Sassy Studio Designs! This is my first official release since being chosen for the design team! I'm so excited about this one! It's SO pretty! Lindsay has designed some amazing wedding images! All the design team members are posting their wedding photos too! :D Check out mine below! That was almost six years ago!! (In September!)

We're having another blog hop to celebrate today's release. If you want to get your hands on the new images, head over to the store. Or you can play along with the challenges today to win free images! (You can click on the logo above too and it will take you to the store!)

My Elements are:

OLD: Old K&Company papers

NEW: Ribbon and Pearls

BORROWED: I used a sketch from Pagemaps.com

BLUE: The pattern papers are blue

Park Ave Stamps....oh, yeah and...

I'm in the process of making a card using a new digital stamp from Park Ave Stamps, designed by my fellow design team member, Larisa at Sassy Studio Designs...but I ran out of adhesive so I have to wait to finish it! :D Here is the stamp though! It's so cute!!

The Latte Lounge DT Call

The Latte Lounge, a division of The Stamping Boutique, is currently looking for DT members.

The team will be instrumental in creating a community that shares the love of crafting while supporting one another. Please realize that the expectations go beyond participation in challenges and creative projects. It is our goal to make an active community for sharing our thoughts, ideas, emotions and creative spirit.

1. Post several times daily in the forum and various groups at The Latte Lounge
2. DT members will need to keep the conversations going as well as getting them started
3. Comment daily on the photos shared by members
4. Welcome new members with comments on their profile
5. Host at least one challenge per month
6. Participate in other team member challenges at least twice a month
7. Promote The Latte Lounge and our happenings on your blog 1 day/week
8. Take the responsibility for posting Question of the Day one day a week
9. Post at least one new project, card, layout in the gallery at least once a week

Sassy Saturday!

It's Saturday again [yay!] and it's time for another Sassy Studio Designs post! :D This is my last official weekend with the SSD crew and the girls there are AWESOME! Lindsay the owner creates some AMAZING images to work with AND it's her 1 year anniversary on June 1st for SSD so to bring in this milestone, the SSD team is posting a relay....you get a freebie, create something with it and post it by the deadline and you'll get the next freebie! Sassy Studio is also having a Design Team call...they are taking four new people for their team...speaking from my experience this month as guest DT, these girls ROCK! I'm very excited to be a part of the first Card Design Team for Cardabilities! I am in some AMAZING company!!!
