Digital Stamping on Candles??

Can this be done??
I'm here to say yes it can!!
So I decided to try out for the Sassy Studio Design Team Call...(I'm trying not to bite my nails waiting for the results!!)...so I thought I'd step out of the box and create something "different"!
We were given a freebie to create something for the call (I believe it's still posted there if you're interested in grabbing it!)...
  1. I printed off the image and then traced it onto the tissue paper
  2. I then took my Copics and coloured the tissue paper.
  3. I made sure to have some cardstock underneath...it does "leak" through!!!
  4. So, next you need to cut it as close to the image as you can
  5. Using your embossing gun, slowly melt the wax a little to adhere the tissue paper to it
  6. It will obviously melt the wax on the candle so just smooth it out as you go or roll it on the table...make sure it won't stick to your surface!
And VOILA! Here is my candle:

I'll keep you posted on the results!

Dare to Be Thursday Challenge at Sassy Studio Designs

Here's my entry for this week's Dare to Be Thursday at Sassy Studio Designs

The challenge was to use ribbon for the card. I wove the ribbons for the background.

Products List:
Buttons: Thrift Store
Ribbons: Miscellaneous
Plaid Paper: Basic Grey
Label: Colorbok
Digi Stamp: Sassy Studio Designs

Thanks for checking it out!

Duff Goldman is in the building!!

Okay, so I'm a Foodnetwork Junkie and of course, "Ace of Cakes" is top on my list of must-watch programs...I WISH I could make cakes like the staff at Charm City Cakes does...My cakes don't even shine a light at them...my cakes look like Duff's cakes probably did when he was 10 years old! I haven't made cakes for awhile! I really need to take another course...it's just finding the time and money to do that!! :D
Anyways, getting off topic here...so, today we're watching the Food Network and "Ace of Cakes" comes on...and my beloved son says he wants to be "the cake guy"...I asked him if he wanted a little beard and everything and he said YES! So I grabbed some cardstock from my stash and cut him a little "beard" and grabbed him a hat and sunglasses!
You tell me if he looks like Duff the cake guy {as Dear Son calls him!}
{Pictures of Duff taken from the internet}
Dear Son as "Mr. Duff Goldman AKA The Cake Guy"!
THIS one is my favorite!!!!
Should I tell Mr. Goldman we're big Boston Bruins fans too! I should have put DS in his Boston Jersey for the pictures!!!!!!! {Thanks for reading this Mary Alice if you get my email!!!!}

Featured!!

So my Cinderella Princess Party ideas were spotted by Kathy, owner and artist from Pixie Dust Studio {where I purchased Miss Cinderella!} and she asked if she could post them on her blog! I'm so honoured to be featured there!! You can see all the details on her store blog PLUS she's having a sale on ALL the princesses in the Pixie Dust Studio Store! How cool is that!? I'm heading over to grab a few more princesses for my creations!! Maybe DD will have another princess party! Just for the fun of it!! DS said he thinks there should be "Kids' Day"...cuz there's Mother's Day and Father's Day so why not Kid's Day? {He's only 4 and he's figured that out!} I gave him the same answer my mom and dad gave to me when I asked that question...EVERY DAY IS KID'S DAY!!!! So maybe we'll have a Kid's Day Princess party!!

Happy "Kid's Day" Everyone!! Don't forget to make it a Pixie Dust Day and grab your Princess images on SALE!!!

Image Flipping Tutorial

I created a card for The Stamping Boutique with a flipped image and I've had a few people ask about how I did it. Here is the tutorial...for anyone that's interested! I'm using the Circus Carousel from The Stamping Boutique for the explanation. This is using Microsoft WORD for printing and flipping digital stamps.

Step One:

Pull up your Microsoft Word program. Insert your chosen image. Once you've got your image inserted, click on it to make sure it's selected and right click on it...you want to chose the Text Wrapping option and click on TIGHT. {This allows you to place the image wherever you'd like}.

Step Two:

Click on the image and copy it. Then you'll want to paste it so you have two images {It may paste it on top of the other one}.

STEP THREE:

Click on the top image and "grab" the square {the one that is circled in the picture below}. Pull this straight across until the image is flipped or mirrored. {Make sure they match cuz it might look a little funny if they don't match!}

Last Step:

Again, don't forget to text wrap the image to TIGHT and then you can move it around...you don't have to use them together...but if it suits for your card to be the other way around, then I would flip the image...

Hope this helps everyone!

This is the card I created using this technique with the Cynthia in the "shrooms" image!

Please don't hesitate to post a comment if you need more explanation and I'll do my best to explain it! Thanks for letting me share!!

My introduction @ TSB!

I'm being introduced on The Stamping Boutique blog today! Here are a few of my newest TSB creations...

The lovely Cynthia and her mushroom wagon is available for FREE if you join the Paper Craft Planet group! I just copied her and flipped the image to create this card. I thought it would make a fun image doing a mirror image...I even coloured them to mirror each other!

This is my fun "Canuck" card! This fun moose with the maple leaf was sorta created with me in mind! Tracey thought she'd create a fun Canada Day image and "Maurice the Moose" fits the bill. {I just named him Maurice....that was actually my grandfather's name! I think Maurice suits him too!}

Thanks for letting me share! :D Pop over to the blog today and see the other girls on the team! They are all SUPER to work with!!! And they are VERY talented!!!

Cinderella Party Pixie Style!

Last weekend was my lovely little girl's birthday party and we had a Cinderella themed party! My mom even made a beautiful ice cream cake {it's SO yummy! We're still enjoying it!!}

Here are the elements for the decorations! The digital stamp is from Pixie Dust Stamps [in the Princess Parade collection].
Cinderella and her pumpkin coach {or Mom's tea pot!}
The goody bag tags {the image was coloured and paper pieced}.
Chocolate bar wrapper {for Grandpa's "goody bag"...he wouldn't like bubble gum and rocket candy!!}

The "Princess" banner {I blow this up to an 8-1/2"x11" sheet!}
Thanks for letting me share! :D I had fun with this and I hope we can do a few more "Princess" parties! I LOVE the images from Pixie Dust Studios
And here's the YUMM-MM-MM-MM-YY-YY-YY-YY ice cream cake!! {Like the "Glass Slippers"? That's where the theme came from!!}
Thanks for letting me share! :D
